Dublin Bus route 7 bus journey times

I see that the no.7 bus is currently redirected away from Blackrock Village due to road construction going on there at the moment. Could it please be so that the 7 remains redirected away from the Village and continues on the main road into town in future. The amount of time it takes to meander through the village adds unneccesary time onto the route, with unnecesary stops and then navigating through the traffic lights to get out and back onto the main road.

The walk to the village from the Frascatti centre is about 3 minuets.

Also the signposting to indicate the stop for the 7 is currently on Frascatti road (for outbound towards Dun Laoghaire) is not clear on some of the affected stops, you would think Dublin Bus would ascertain where the nearest stop has been rerouted to, instead of just a " Sorry, this stop is temporarily out of service, sorry for any inconvenience."

There is no reason the 7 (or any bus except maybe the 17) should go near the main street
That turning right at Temple Hill and along Newtown Avenue on the way into town is equally rediculous.

I thought the 7 long ago did away with the village, I'm sure I can remember being on buses that bypassed it when they started and it was great.

Nope still going through the village. I do remember it bypassing it for a while, but they obviously decided that it made too much sense and that shorter bus journies were a bad thing.

I wonder did DB route the service back through the village as a sop to some local councillor who wanted to 'preserve the village ethos' or some similar BS?

Richard Boyd-Barrett and his rent-a-crowd spent many hours at the Glenageary road roundabout protesting about the routing of the 46A away from Monkstown Farm but DB basically told them to PO.
