decorations in a listed building?

I was planning on organising a birthday in Lost Society in Dublin however, the girl said because it is a listed building we are not allowed to hang decorations, banners etc on the wall other than sprinkling a few decorations and putting poppers on the table what else could I do guess helium balloons are ok. Has anyone had…
