Thinking about a mondeo or passat estate, 2010 or 11. Have heard a bad story about each. Anyone any problems with either or which would you pick

Both are very thin on the ground here, especially the mondeo, meaning you aren't spoiled for choice.

    Why a Superb?

Understand the Honda, but a Superb is the same as a Passat.

Superb is a larger car and better value.

Superb is also nicer inside than a Passat despite what the badges would have you believe.

I hoping to stay under 50000 miles and both the superb and the accord are outside my budget then

50k miles on a 2010/2011 diesel is very low mileage, your choice will be fairly limited.

Low mileage diesels tend to be used around town and on low speed runs, neither of which are good for the DPF and DMF (and thus your bank balance) in the long run. Condition and full service history are far more important in my opinion.
