I think i am going mad but I can only see the contacts by SIM. When I open contacts and tap menu - I have already imported contacts from the sim.
The phone contacts are not visible.
After rebooting the phone both sim and contact icons appeared (two entries per person). This stayed briefly.
I have explored the filter but cannot see where is says contact view anywhere.
Under the "Display Contacts" - Viber, local contact, SIM contact, Google and Facebook are all options with tick boxes. I have explored all the options tried various combinations but to no avail.

Am I missing something simple? Any ideas? I am leaning towards a bug in the phone. When I try and allocate a picture to a contact - the contact list contains only numbers and names of people that I have added since I have gotten the phone (2 months) so this indicates that the import sim contacts didn't work.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Under Display Contacts, untick all but Google, then retry the import if they are still not visible. On import of SIM Contacts, it will prompt you where you wish to save them - choose your Google account.

Bingo! Thank you, I have sim and contact (double entries) now, so just delete sim contacts?
    Cheers

Back to only sim contacts again without adjusting settings. Fcuk, tried allocating a photo to a name and no contacts with that name.....
Edit: didn't make any changes of any sort, as I wanted to see if the double entries cleared by themselves or if I did something different the first time round

In this case, untick everything except for Google contacts, you don't need to show SIM Contacts anymore. If all else fails, export your SIM Contacts to SD Card, then import contacts from SD Card and choose your Google account as where to store them. Then once your account has synced, go into GMail on a browser, then Contacts and use the Merge Duplicates option. I also find it easier to add pictures this way too.
