ITV Encore to launch in June.
Does anyone know whether it will be available in ROI?

    I very much doubt it.

"We can now reveal that ITV Encore will launch on Sky Channel 123 on Monday 9th June.

Our new subscription channel will be exclusive to Sky customers and will boast a fantastic selection of ITV's best drama."

none of ITV's channels are available to Irish Sky viewers so the chances of this being available is slim to none.

Will we be able to get it in other channels?

itv encore is pay only so you wont get it on other channels. there may some hope of it being on ROI EPG but time will tell.

The Sunday email I received implied it would be available to us in the ROI.

Does anyone know if it's just on Sky platform or will it be on freeview etc too?

Exclusive to Sky customers like Sky Atlantic was my reading of it.

Might not be able to get it on the 'card trick' either if its behind a pay wall.Hopefully when UTV Ireland starts, there maybe a different outlook about ITV channels being available here!

Methinks ITV might have a better idea than Sky.

Unless Sky specified it would be available in the Republic I'd disregard it (it wouldn't be the first time they've copied and pasted information and forgot to remove for this territory).

In addition, why would ITV specify UK only on their TV promos?

They are all available ,its just that not all of them are on the epg ,which is an absolute joke in this day and age.

As others has said - the "UK Only" seems fairly clear cut... possibly UTV Ireland having the ITV Studio suite of rights has put a stop to it.

You need a Freesat HD box then. I bet less than 5% of your viewing time is Pay TV. Of course I could be wrong and maybe you only watch Sport, in which case it might be higher.

Sounds too similar to ITV3 although I suppose they show older dramas.

But some of the ITV HDs are pay channels therefore not accessible via a Freesat box

In addition the other pay tv channels are not accessible via a Freesat box, and all the SD ITVs are available on a Skybox, so your "solution" makes no sense

ITV Encore can now be viewed via other channels on the label 10000 with a Sky viewing card. The frequency for tuning it in is 10832 H 22.0 5/6.

It'll require the HD sub to work as it's the HD channel, I believe. I wonder if there's no regionalisation of sorts on the HD sub and that's why it's working, as I think ITV2-4 HD also clear with an Irish HD sub, even though they can't be tuned in on a Sky box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,895 ✭✭✭lertsnim

Yes that's working here too and you are correct about the ITV2, 3 and 4 HD channels with an Irish viewing card.

Regionalisation exists on the HD sub as was evident when ESPN showed Europa League football and Irish viewers got the always nice to see 08 error.

I have it working on 1000 on 10832 H 22000 5/6, but not the way you have it.

Has anyone been able to pick up ITV Encore using the 10832 H 22000 5/6. I did a google search and was told to use it. I manually tuned it in but am only getting a blank screen. I know someone that has a HD Box for sky and they manually tuned it in and got it no problem. All the other ITV problems are no problem to pick up, but this one does not seem to work if you are working off an older box. Its not for me anyway.

ITV Encore can be viewed through other channels if you have tne HD pack. If you don't have the HD pack and you tune it in using the above frequency it will come up as blocked.

I managed to add ITV Encore with the card trick ( blue button). I have an ROI HD sub. Wonder if it will last though?
