Price of fixing exhaust?

Just looking for a general ballpark figure.
My exhaust has become extremely loud in the past few months, and at this stage it sounds like something a boy racer would have.

I presume there's a hole in it somewhere. On visual inspection I cant really see anything other than a lot of rust.

How much do would it generally cost for it to be patched up?
Will I have to replace the entire thing, and if so how much will that cost?

    Thanks.

That would depend on the car, how severe the damage is (if any) and where you get it fixed. It could be that a section of the exhaust has come loose and simply needs tightening. If there is a lot of rust, it might not be as bad as you think, as it could just be surface rust. Ball park for the average repair would be €150 to €200 but that might be way off, depending on the first line of questioning.

Could just be a small hole and be replaced by welding in a new section for €100 or less. It all depends on where the hole is and the general condition of the rest of it to hold up the repairs, if the car is 10 years plus the more of it will need to be repaired.

If its become that loud, more than likely its deteriorated beyond a condition that can be fixed with welding. It might be fixable but Id be prepared for the cost of a replacement unit myself, just in case.

I'd wager it cheaper in the long run to go online and source a replacement as it sounds knackered, getting a new one welded should be no more than €30-40
