Have you ever met an adult who masticates with their mouth open?

Myself and the missus were in a restaurant the other night, and after a while we heard this disgusting smacking of lips as somebody ate their food 'open mouthed. I had a sneaky look, and there he was, mouth open with every chew, smack smack smack of the mouth as he masticated away - totally disgusting in my view.

The last time I ever heard anybody eating like that was in Primary school.

Have you ever encountered this disgusting habit in adulthood?

Yes.!!! There's a girl at work who by one of those malevolent spirits is always sitting in my eyeline.

Always chews with mouth wide open, it's like a washing machine.

Depends what I'm masticating to, tbh.

Sometimes when someones masticating me, especially if they've a great rack or are in especially sexy lingerie, I find it hard not to have my mouth open.

People who say masticate instead of chew/eat disgust me. It's two syllables longer, absolutely no call for that sort of behaviour.

I was in china for a month a few years ago, I would swear that most of them chomp their food open mouthed.

There is probably a thread on www.boards.cn about the European fella who disgustingly ate with his mouth closed.

My uncle (retired Prison officer) told me a story about one time he was in court transporting/escorting prisoners.
A solicitor was doing his/her thing and the judge calls over a Garda and says while pointing to a person in the gallery "so and so is masticating and its distracting me, can you ask him to stop" or something to that effect.

So the Garda walks over to the man with a look of absolute disgust on his face and says "you there, stop playing with yourself" :D:D

I don't know if its a true story or just some prison officer humor.

My post was lighthearted so it is not I who needs to lighten up. I hope I am never disgusted by the use of a perfectly cromulent word.

When I was pregnant, we had a student on placement for 6 months in work. I swear I don't know how he chewed cos his mouth was open so much when eating you could practically see his tonsils.

It used to turn my pregnancy-delicate belly to the point that I had to stop eating in his company, it was vile.
