Having tried one over a weekend, the S line imo is a pig on uneven surfaces. I found it very heavy on fuel too - 2.0 tdi and that is from me being a petrol car driver. It did somewhere around 30 mpg over a weekend but it did get welly.

Fuel economy aint a issue but I am concerned about the comfort see if you buy the SE its bog standard with no xenons or toys.

Colleague at work has a 12 one, can't for the life of me remember the spec, defo wasn't an S line though. It's a weird greeny colour and black leather too, nice alloys as well. Sat in it once, but that's as far as it went.

It has these alloys, seem to be an upgrade on the standard ones.
It's a nice place to be in, so I can only assume an S line is a nicer place!

My Dad has a 2012 2.0 TDI S-Line with the 20" alloys and I find it perfectly comfortable. In saying that, I'm used to a GTI so make of that what you will. He has had a few issues with the car though. Had DPF replaced, injectors replaced, and the glow plug light started to flash on the motorway the other day. It was pretty economical at the start if I recall, but has been managing low 40s of late.

Fcuk that doesn't sound entertaining. .

Got a 2012 S-line for my father last year. He absolutely love it - me to. It has the 20's too. Expensive I'd say for tyres it had P-Zeros.

Big step up from his 2008 320 msport d. It's not to harsh as the bmw.

Get an S-line. Black headlining. I got him one with the black pack. No chrome on the outside sets it off .

I love taking it when I get the chance. It is an Irish car. Front and rear parking sensors are a most on these. My mother loves the visual display of being able to park it. It has Bluetooth but heated front seats , but no nav. Media a2dp is class for music via Bluetooth.

Haven't had any trouble with it.

I have a 2012 s line. As Mick said above the ride can be hard on bad roads or speed bumps. Those small ones are the worst. Rattle you to bits even when going over with no throttle at all. BUT it's a great cat to drive and the s line kit is way superior to the se. Fuel economy I average about 40mpg with mixed driving.

Cheers folks I suppose the UK is the best option I really like the rotor 20" wheels. I am in two minds of waiting another year and saving for a 3.0 Quattro.

Get the 3l biturbo. I want that One!!!!!!!!

I have a 2012 SE which I brought in from the UK.

Spec is superb, has heated electric front seats which are on top of the 2012 SE spec (maybe standard now?). Comfort is second to none, a bit sluggish in town but I’m used to petrols, 178 horsies make it a beast on the motorway.

Getting 8.8 l/100 km (whatever that is in MPG – 27?) which is poorer than I had hoped when I bought it but it is a monster of a car.

S-Lines are class but not sure they’re worth the extra for what you get. Bring in from UK and you’ll deffo have a better choice and spec.

    Best of luck

Probably about 50% city driving – its about 40/42 MPG on the open road but driving into and out of Dublin everyday kills it

3.0 quattro. Then you would have a proper car.

    Yes but worth it.
I've had a few audis down the years.
Last 2 have been a quattro TT and now a front drive A5. I will not be looking at another front drive audi. Imo, the current designs don't work very well as front drive. I'm assuming they are very much designed around the 4 wheel drive setup and anything else is very much the poor relation.

All of your posts in this thread are confusing as pretty much all the reviews of the current A6 are very positive, with many calling the car the "best handling/riding Audi ever".

I just don't like the way they behave. Perhaps to a point a personal thing. Reviews are a load of bull crap.
Just remembered, I didn't like the way the steering loaded up in corners either. Yes surefooted but missing something.
As I say, personal opinion. Drive one. If you like it -great. All my opinion is based on the s line.

I think I will hold out for a Quattro Mick.

    Cheers.
