I remember helping my brother plant some trees, when he moved into his new house back in 2007. It was a bad day but we had all the gear on. I was clearing rocks from a hole that I had just dug. I had a nice, cosy snorkel type hood on my jacket and guess what? Yes it was raining up the way. Yes, up the way. Head down, clearing out rocks and the wind and rain was blasting into my face. Only in Ireland.

    Stop moaning about the rain.

    Get over it.

If you are an adult in Ireland, you must know that it does rain, please prepare for it.

I overhead a random conversation in the work canteen this week. Some Dutch guy said 'The clouds in Ireland move REALLY fast!'

I didn't bother explaining the concept of 'wind', it'd only have confused the poor man.

Had to suffer 2hrs at a pitch this morning as child had hurling blitz. My jeans and shoes were soaked through. I mean completely soaked.
The kids loved it though .

Wet Eireann have an app with a handy radar map so you can check if it's coming in your direction.
The Midlands seem to always get the torrential downpours from what I've seen of it.

Why don't we burn the constitution and abandon the Irish language while we're at it.

    Bloody rain

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

Was out earlier with the three year old. We both got soaked but he loved it....especially when we accidentally ran in to a 3 inch deep puddle in Nutgrove carpark.

But home and dry and snuggly warm now. No need to leave the house until monday.

Time to remove the wind, there is these special wind remover vacuum cleaners you can get at Curries.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

What do you call it when you have power and don't want to watch the Eurovision and someone else has no power and wants to watch it?

What do you call it when you have power and don't want to watch the Eurovision and someone else has no power and wants to watch it?

    Poor distribution of resources.

Think Alanis Morrisette had a song about that once. 'Twas 'ironic'
