Hi I'm wondering what class of applicant I am, I'm a mature student living with a parent but receiving BTEA (soon to be switched back to JA for the summer) so am not financially dependent or receiving any financial help from him. It says if I am classed as an independent mature student then I'll have to prove I live alone, but if I say I'm dependent on him then his income is means tested. I pay rent to him and bills but do not receive any financial support at all.

If you live with a parent you are classed as dependent regardless of age

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
