Multiple Users on Windows 8.1 - help!

    Hi all,

We have installed the Windows 8.1 update on our home laptop. We do not password protect our laptop as there are a few people using it and there's nothing particularly important on it anyway.

Somehow, the settings have been changed so that the sign-in screen now requires my partner's Microsoft email account password in order to log-in to the laptop. It seems that we all need to set up individual accounts with passwords in order to use the same laptop.

Is there any way that we can change the settings so that:

    1. we can keep using the laptop with only one user account; and
    2. we don't need any password to use it.

The answer to this is probably quite simple however I can't figure it out. Even when I have clicked on "remove all passwords for this PC" in the settings, my partner's email password is still required in order to be able to log-in.

I hate Windows 8 - why can't they just make things straightforward?

Thanks all very much in advance!!!
