Somewhere to stay

Right idk is this the right place so sorry in advance
We're from Donegal and me and my two friends are coming down for a night or two in the summer and we're looking for some where to stay. Can anyone recommend any good cheep hotels that are close to the city centre? I don't know Dublin at all so I'm like a headless chicken trying to find somewhere! Thanks

Generator hostel Smithfield. Cheap and close to everything. Not the most amazing area, but far better than most of Dublin 1

What's your price range?

Are you looking for a room between you or a room each or what?

It seems to me there's nothing but hotels in Dublin, they're all over the place. And many very central too.

Yeah a hostel would be fine! There's three of us so like nothing over £80

You do know we use the Euro in Dublin?? It is in the same country as Donegal by the way

You'd be all right anywhere in city centre. It's a walkable distance or if you're lazy plenty of buses will drop you close or a taxi could be got for cheap enough. Would advise to book soon though as prices tend to skyrocket when anything like that is on. And obviously after the Garth Brooks situation try get free cancellation.

If you want to be right on the doorstep then The Croke Park Hotel as the name would imply is your best bet. Would imagine it's not cheap when a gig is on though and you'd probably prefer to be closer to town anyway for restaurants and pubs, etc.

Not on the day of a concert they wouldn't. With 80,000 odd people heading to Croker, the approach roads from the airport, Swords, Santry, Whitehall etc would be jammers, even with the bus/taxi lanes. I'd stick with something closer to town, or Drumcondra itself. On the day of the One Direction concert last year, the area around Whitehall church/M1 Santry exit was backed up for miles. I know this coz I was stuck in the damm traffic jam. :mad:
