hi all i bought a car about a year ago that had light damage,i done a cartell report on it when i bought it and it was clear, the lad that i bought it from had only bought it himself and crashed it before he even got it insured.problem is i went to trade it into a garage recently and they said there was a marker on it so i done another cartell check and it says it either was in a crash, flooded,or a claim made on it so now im worried that if i had a accident am i covered, car passed nct no problem as well

Contact your insurance company on Monday.

No matter what anyone says, you'll have to get confirmation regardless. I wouldn't take anything an internet stranger says as gospel.

I can't really see any possible way OP could not be insured.

There is a strong possibility your insurer is already aware of this.
A family member bought a car some years ago from a main dealer. The car was subsequently stolen and badly damaged. When they went to claim on their insurance , they were offered a substantially reduced amount due to the car haing been written off prior to them purchasing.

The dealer denied all knowledge but in the end covered the shortfall.

I would expect that you would be covered for third party claims but not for the full value of your cover in the event of loss or damage. However the only people who can definitively advise you is your insurance company. Anyway now that you are aware of the previous damage you are obliged to inform your insurer.
