    Hi!

I looked through my parents revenue form 11(farmers) and noticed they should have had a tax credit for incapacitated child for many years that was not put through by their accountant.

I work in finance myself but am unsure if this can be reclaimed back as don't work with taxes ever! Can someone advise please before I go back to the accountant on this?

    Thanks!

It can be retrospectively claimed by speaking to the self assessment area of your parents tax office to request amendments to their prior returns. They may be asked to prove the claim. See link below for further info.

So this credit is 3300, they should get back 4x3300=13200 from revenue then?

    This was a big overlook..

This is dependent on them having paid that amount of tax in those years. You can only be refunded the tax you paid.

If they claimed the dependent relative tax credit , they'll have to give that back . Only 70 a year
