dell 8 beeps

Hi, I have a problem with my dell inspiron n5030. I have tried to find a solution but i havent found any. When I power it no it gives me a constant 8 beeps. I know that this means a problem with the LCD and I have tried the colors test ( power + D) but this shows nothing, also it doesn't show the dell logo either so diagnostics won't work. I don't have a VGA cable to use a different moniter. It started when I was trying to solve a problem that the screen would only work at a certain angle. I'm guessing that this was a loose connection. While opening it I must have completely disconnected the LCD connection by accident (connector beside CPU fan), now there is a brown wire with a black band around it that has SAL on it. Also the wire is longer that the others and half of it is exposed. I'm guessing that I must reconnect this somewhere, but I don't know where. Please let me know what you think I should do.

Thanks for the comment I'll try lookover those videos. But one thing I have noticed is that my LCD connector doesn't have the same black cover around the end. Is this important?

The detached brown cable is a thick-ish wire, not a ribbon cable?

The only brown wire displayed in the service manual seems to be one of the speaker connectors? Page 33.

The black surround on the LCD cable connector would usually be an adhesive non-conducting fabric tape to hold it in place, stuck to an adjacent motherboard or heatsink. (to prevent the connector being pushed and pulled as the screen is opened and closed.)

The small brown wire I'm talking about Is one of the small wires that are bundled with the LCD cable. The laptop has been repaired once before by professionals but the problem came up again and I decided to have a look. The LCD cable was in a terrible state. From what I could tell the previous insulation was stripped and the small wires were messed with. Then they were put back together with electrical tape.
