    sorry if off thread, but im going to be unemployed soon ,does anyone know if there is any course that social welfare offer before I go on unemployment benefits ,thanks,

    It might be useful for you to go to a Citizens Information office and ask them to run through the process with you and weigh up your options etc., and find out eligibility time for courses etc.

    Being on the 'live register' opens the door to various job activation schemes which otherwise you would not be eligible. There are varying qualifying times you must be on the dole before being eligible.
