Got an email today regarding pre-ordering the official R O Kerry jersey today and this youtube video is also there. Is it just me because I can't believe the risks they are taking.I know it can be dangerous stuff doing that decent but these guys are taking unnecessary risks. We all have to get up and continue on the next day.Don't think it should be parked up on the official website either unless you are trying to show what not to do.Just my opinion anyway.

Where specifically? It didn't seem so bad to me, particularly if it is a descent you're used to and know where the risky sections are. Sight lines seemed clear enough.

I also thought it looked OK - the camera-man was over-taken in parts by people free-wheeling/sitting-up. He looks like he's just free-wheeling down himself. He doesn't weave wildly, he doesn't pass too close to people, he's in the drops covering his brakes. Looked pretty sensible to me.

I'm a fairly nervous descender and all but it made me wish I was doing the ROK this year!

I think the OP is referring to the riders on the right hand side of the road, as they negotiate a right hand bend.

These things always look much worse on video than they do in real life though.

There are cars in the video? though they are travelling in the same direction as the riders so not too bad.

Was there a collision with that truck and a few cyclists?? closed road or not some heros thinking there were in the Giro going down the hill and going around bends blind.

The roads were closed around Molls Gap according to this:

Ya... but I met an Ambulance coming UP the hill just after Ladies View last year. Got a bit of a shock as I wasn't expecting any vehicular traffic on the road.

And I saw a Break-Down van parked on the right repairing a puncture.

I wouldn't take for granted that the right lane is 'free' for the descent..

The road was closed but to expect. local traffic.Part Where 07 lapierre said overtaking the Bmw .Also Where there seems to be a Crash and a motorbike is coming in opposite direction.maybe I'm just too safe so.

Spending a week in Sneem the week after the ROK, and for my money both the descents from Ballaghbeama to Glencar and Balligasheen to Glencar are way better. Both recently resurfaced, very little traffic, perfect sight lines, and one of my favourite bits of the Kingdom.
