Importing - on what date is the VRT calculation applied?

Is it the date of sale or the date that you are actually getting the check done at the NCT centre? Because you have a week and a month to arrange this, it works out cheaper if it's on the date that the check is being done.

    Thanks!!

On the date of assessment at the NCTS I'd imagine and it could have increased by then too.

    Hmmm....

I'm trying to book this online and I thought that I could book up to 30 days in advance. I've tried all of the test centres near me and they are all only allowing booking up to the week after next. Strange, no??

Car has to be booked in for VRT appraisal within 7 days of entering the country. VRT payment and registration has to be completed within 30 days.

VRT is due/calculated based on the date it entered the state.

    No it isn't.
VRT is calculated according to valuation on day of inspection.

Why isn't the dealer VRTing the car on your behalf?
