Leaving Job inside probation period- Notice

Hi I hope someone can help me with a dilemma.
My brother is 2 1/2 months into a new job, however he is desperately unhappy as the job isnt as he was lead to believe, he also hasn't been paid fully or on time nor recieved any comission.
From what i understand he is handing in his notice on monday, so my question is if he hands in his notice, how much notice should he give?
And what is the likely outcome regarding holidays, pay.
If he gives a month and the employer tells him to finish after a week will he get paid only for the week or the notice period?
Bear in mind he has no contract of employment and is on a probationary period.

The citizens advice should be able to help you with this one but if he has no contract they he is only obliged to give a weeks notice.

To the best of my knowledge he is entitled to a day and a half paid holiday for each month he has worked.
