Just saw a military plane fly over my head at 12:15 in Carrickmines, Dublin 18. It was cool. How do I find out what type of plane it was? What tracker can I use?

If it was military it may not show up on a tracker site. Was it low in the sky? What kind of size/colour? Could you tell if it was propeller or jet engines and how many? If you could give some detail like that there's a better chance someone here could identify it.

If you look at http://www.flightradar24.com/, you can use the playback feature to look at what they tracked over your area at the time.

It was most likely an Irish air corps CASA, if my hearing serves me correctly as it passed over sandyford and does so quite often at low altitude.

I was on custom house quay today around 12:20pm and that plane went over really low. It came in from Dublin port and circled over the o connell st area and headed out towards balls bridge. Strange to see anything flying so low over Dublin city, looked cool though!

The Casa yesterday was returning after acting as top cover for Rescue 117 in a pick-up of an injured crewman on a vessel approx 125 miles South of Cork.
