Jobseekers allowance while living with parents?

I'm just finishing up my final year of university, and since I currently jobless and cash strapped I was planning on moving back in with my parents temporarily until I can get on my feet. I'm just wondering if doing that would prevent me from being able to claim job seekers allowance? Both my parent work full time so if it's means tested by household I probably wouldn't qualify.
I'm finding it difficult to get an exact answer from the citizens information website.

    Thanks

18-24 usually receives €100 per week but if under 25 and living with parents then there is a means test i.e. you could end up getting less than €100 depending on your parents.

My niece is 19 and gets nothing. Her mum and step dad both work and she was assessed. Still job hunting! :(

Just gonna hijack this thread - I'm just finishing college and also have nothing lined up. I'm working a part time job in a restaurant / bar one night a week which pays roughly €40 - €50 for the night. However, come summer that will more than likely be one night every two weeks since everyone will be begging for hours.

I'm only 21 and still living with parents. If I sign on, can I continue working my part time position? Or is it a choice of one or the other. I'd rather leave the job and be guaranteed €40 per week rather than hoping that I'll get hours..

Obviously that'll only be until I find the right job in my degree field.

You can sign on and apply for casual jsa but if your parents are working then their income as well as your income will be assessed as means. When parental means are assessed there are also disregards if they pay a mortgage/rent, if they are paying for private health care and depending on the number of children in the household so its always worth a shot applying for jsa.
