BIK on private to commercial vehicle

    Hi all,

I am self employed (ltd company) in the construction sector.
I currently own a car and am paying the 30% BIK on original value as I am based on a site within walking distance from home and am not completing any business mileage. This has led me to thinking about changing for a commercial vehicle and only paying 5%.
The issue I have is that this doubles as our family car as my wife does not drive.
Research is leading me to think that the 5% is only applicable to proper vans and not crew cabs/converted jeeps, and therefore I would get caught for 30% value of jeep.
Can anyone shed some light on my query?

    Thanks.
