Hi, I recently passed my theory test and got an eye test done, now I need to apply for my learner permit, but I'm a bit confused about the application process, do i go to my local motor tax office or to the test centre where i did my theory test? do I need to make an appointment/booking?

You don't go to the motor tax office anymore. You go to your local NDLS centre and apply for your learner permit there. You can find your nearest one at http://www.ndls.ie . Making an appointment in advance is advised. Otherwise show up early in the morning and expect a long wait.
