Anyone got an idea what the other two northern lads pbs are? Could pollock break 2:10? I think he's get a shot at it.

Nice to see them send a team. Particularly interested to see how Pollock and Duncan go.

According to Michael McKillop's facebook, Seaward ran a 2:18 on his debut in Manchester.

Pollock will be interesting alright. He's just ran a 28:30 10k, what's a good marathon for that kind of 10k ability or is it irrelevant?

Funny how none of our London 2012 marathoners were selected or were ever in the running. Hope Maria runs to her best at a championship, deserves it after a disappointing run in Moscow last year

Frazer has 2.17 last year in Berlin. Seawards late charge got him the spot, think he was second in the Novice in the Curragh a few years ago
Having the team competition can only be good for athletes, morale, motivation and aiming for the third spot in the race .
2012 efforts seem to have taken time to recover from for many- some seem to have retired or taken a long break.
Good to see Maria Mc back
As an aside was Sergiu being considered for Irish team I wonder?

Good to see Nicola Duncan (2:33 in London) being pulled in to represent Ireland. Hopefully it'll spur Maria Mac and the other girls onwards too, to have someone to chase over the marathon distance.

No, as far as I know he was aiming to get on the Moldovan team and just narrowly missed their 2.17 QT. Maybe they will still select him!

Has Linda Byrne been injured or taken time away from running?

Taking some time away I believe.

He was hoping to get his citizenship sorted and hit the Q time.Alot of pressure to have both to aim for but showed great character in running the 2.17 after a DNF in Rotterdam. Not sure but id expect his Citizenship didn't go through in time.

I think Pollock will be in the mix for a medal if he runs the way he is right now.His 10k on the track was a huge jump for him.
