Specsavers alternative

So heres my tale of woe; I got two pairs of rimless glasses (the first set for reading, the second for driving etc. ) 3 weeks ago from Specsavers, and 7 return trips later and I still have issues. I had my eyes tested a second time after getting the first set of glasses as I started getting headaches and a tick in my left eye, and it turned out the first test was 'inaccurate' and I got a wrong prescription.

The first sets of frames had to be tightened 4 times as the plastic hinges were faulty. Just got the replacement sets as I was working abroad for the last 10 days. I was told to call in the Sunday before I went to get the new frames fitted, only to be told they did not have a technician working that day. My girlfriend went in the following Monday to collect them and DHL them to me, she was told that I would have to collect them in person, so I've had to put up with the incorrect prescription until I got back. Got the latest pair today and they are already slipping down my nose.

Based on this, I think I am well within my rights to ask for a full refund, I think I have been more than understanding and given them enough chances to put it right.

Are there any good alternatives (ideally bricks & mortar retailers) with a decent range of frames?

I ended up buying glasses online. I find the attitude of staff in Opticians to be the worst of all retail stores. I have visited several opticians and I can honestly say I have never had a positive experience. Everyone from the manager to the person working the till generally is unhelpful and has an attitude.

I brought my glasses online and they are perfect. Bigger glasses with rims are very popular at the moment. Something like Ray Ban Wayfarer as a day to day glass is very popular and they are cheap online

Worst experience from Specsavers in Castlebar recently. Found Management was rude & curt when I returned with non-tolerance of varifocal lenses, despite their standard non-tol arrangement with the lens manufacturers where they're fully refunded in such instances. It appears their primary focus is on pushing sales, sensed a very tense atmosphere between management & sales staff. Won't ever put my optical health in their care again. Was made to feel I was a nuisance for having to return to the store.
