As per thread title, looking to buy a new laptop and have €700 to spend. I'm looking at http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=ECE3057697 but I'm wondering if anybody can do any better. Would I be right in thinking I'd get a higher spec for the same price if I compromised on the touchscreen? The most intensive tasks I'll be using it for would be audio editing/processing.

That laptop is way overpriced imo.
Can't look up other options as only on phone atm.
if I was buying a laptop of that spec online I would only look to be paying around 450-500 Max.

Is it mainly audio you'll be working with yes?

Did you have a laptop with touchscreen before,i always thought a touchscreen on a laptop never made sense,i haven't used or had one myself but it just seems it would never be very practical with the keyboard there in front would take away the handiness of it or the whole point of the touchscreen.
I could be wrong as i haven't used or had one before, but it just seems like it would be more awkward than handy.

Without knowing what you will use it for this is what I would be looking at.

If you can tell us what you will use the laptop for, others might have better suggestions.

scrap that suggestion just seen this in another thread in Bargain alerts

I think they are handy with Windows 8 for general internet browsing.

For general net browsing a tablet is more than adequate. I wouldn't be getting a laptop just for that.

That's true. It's more an added bonus.
I've a Macbook air atm and don't think I would ever use a touchscreen if it had one.
