3rd interview/meeting for graduate position - how to interpret?

    I had two interviews for a graduate position with a fairly large company.

    I was told during my second interview that there'd only be two rounds of interviews.

    I didn't think the second interview went particularly great but I received a call today (2 weeks after second interview) from HR inviting me to a 3rd interview - she said it'll be different than the previous interviews, only lasting 20 minutes and more conversational.

    I'm in the thick of exams at the moment, so don't have a huge amount of free time to prepare for it.

    I'm not sure how to interpret this? I don't want to get my hopes up - but it sounds positive? Do you think it could be an offer, or else is it further questioning to differentiate me from other remaining candidates? I have 'References available on request' on my CV but haven't been asked to provide any referee details.

    It turned out to be an interview type meeting... lots of 'What would you do if...?' and questions designed to get to know me better. One of the tougher (but shorter interviews) I've had but no competency based questions this time.

    The interviewer didn't explicitly say but it sounds like a tiebreak situation between a few candidates.
