    Hello,

My driving instructor has said to me that this is not actually needed. I thought I had to do 38hrs with a Sponsor.

Does anyone know what the actual craic with it is?

No, there is no mandatory number of hours that you must do with a sponsor. It is recommended that you do a few hours practicing your driving with a sponsor, in between lessons. But there is no set rule setting out how much. It is not something that is checked when you apply to do your test, or when you sit the test itself.

You don't HAVE to look left and right before crossing the road either. It's kind of the same thing.
