I need to be out there Saturday morning and will need to kill a bit of time, I see there's a park behind the campus, any use for running in or alternatives nearby?

That's a good shout, what's the handiest running route up the old Swords Rd or Ballymun Rd?

Nothing wrong with Albert College Park either (the one you're referring to), depends how much time you have to kill I suppose.

Another option might be to run back down the Mobhi Road towards Phibsboro and then run out along the Royal Canal....it is not much more than a mile from DCU to the canal.

Albert College Park is decent enough. Also the park across the road beside the Esso (the Sports ground) is used as a cross country course and is a handy place to add some distance.

Cool - I think that's an option, the kids are in taking exams, so would be useful to swing past the entrance every 15mins or so!

I'd go up through Ballymun Rd. Less roads to cross and generally quieter with less pedestrians and paths are wider. Albert College Park is lovely to run in as is Santry Demesne. You could do a loop and take in the park in Whitehall on your way back from Santry to DCU.

The loop that is Ballymun Road, Griffith Avenue , Swords Road and Collins Avenue is 2.8 miles......

Albert Park is nice and flat, but relatively small, if you're looking for some mileage, you could do a lot worse then head down to Griffith avenue, and out Clontarf road to the Bull and back with a lap of St. Annes.
