ocaholic says 270x is 78% faster than 6870 overall. So, yes quite a step up.

You will get a gtx 760 for 206 and 11 delivery. Using Geizhals.de and hardwareversand.de.

Will be an slight step up from the r9 270x.

    Just another option.

He has to buy from Komplett though. From them I would say the 270X is the only option.

You could also get this, extremely close to 270X levels, and €30 less.

Ah my bad. How did you end up with credit? Just curious , did they not give a refund and only give store credit or something?

Yeah I bought a Roccat Kone[+] mouse from them and it stopped working properly, as they no longer stock they gave me credit instead of a replacement. I liked the feel of the mouse so I got a new one elsewhere.

Hey dunnie, just thought I would leave a remark and say I have recently upgraded from a 6870 to a 270x and just got to say it's a great upgrade in my opinion. The performance increase was very noticeable.

Grab the r9 270 and overclock it to save yourself some cash. You should be able to hit the same clock speeds as the 270x.

I got the R9270x today, put it in and the PC won't start, the 2 green lights are showing on the card and the fans are spinning, but I'm getting a no signal on the screen as if nothing is happening.

Edit: It works when I put the old card back in and it works off of the integrated graphics when no card in inserted, When I have the new card in the computer won't even boot from integrated graphics.

Have you got the PCIE 6Pin power connector fitted? And what PSU have you got?

I have 2 PCIE 6Pin connectors fitted to it.
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 550W - PSU
    ASRock H61DE/S3, Sockel 1155, ATX - Motherboard

If I press the power button on the case it shuts down instantly with new card, normally I would have to hold the button for 10 seconds or so for anything to happen with that button. I ran AMD clean Uninstall utility since the earlier post and nothing has changed.

It would power down quicker because you didn't get to log in because screen was black no?

Have you tried using the VGA/dvi ,hdmi port could be broke? If you have not already Reseat the card.

I tried the same thing with the power button with old card installed and power button doesn't work instantly like with new one. It's a tv I'm hooked into (1920x1080 resolution) so I have no dvi port and the card has no vga connection, I've no other monitor to try it on. I've tried reseating the card a few times with no luck. I'll get back onto komplett in the morning and see what they say.

Are they two separate connectors or a single 6 pin with a splitter? If theyre on the same power rail theyre may not be enough juice for her, but it should really boot at least.

    It's similar to this one:
    pcie_small.jpg

I tried it with one pcie connector and it booted with the integrated graphics, but nothing from the card, when both are connected I get nothing. I need a new case too as the card is much bigger than the old one, I can fit it by removing 2 of my hard drives, but all my tv and films are on them. I might upgrade the PSU anyway to give myself another 100-150 watts and a modular one would keep the clutter down. If anyone has any recommendations for a new case and PSU I'd appreciate it too. My current case is a Xigmatek Asgard 2, I'd like something preferably with 4 front USB.

I was thinking of this case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FN54HEM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE and this psu http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ALK3QRS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
