    Hi

Just wondered if anybody would know price estimates for bridgework. Its a small gap where a second premolar was removed about 15 years ago, it is too small a gap for an implant as a lot of it has naturally closed up. I was quoted 2000e about 6 years ago but that was on top of other dental costs at the time and I didnt have the extra. Im wondering if prices have fallen, that same dentist charged me 2500e for 2 porcelain veneers at the same time(6years ago). Im getting up the courage to ask my new dentist for a price but I wanted to have some vague idea of what it might cost first. Also anyone know how long a lateral incisor porcelain veneer should last? Im terrified hes gonna tell me I need them replaced too and Im a poor student.

I'd expect between €1000-2000 depending on the material, dentists general pricing structure and type of bridge used (will it be a Maryland bridge, false tooth attached to a crown on just one tooth, or false tooth attached to a crown on each side are the main factors).
To be honest €2500 for two veneers is on the higher side, even for Celtic Tiger times, so if he quoted you €2000 for the bridge I'm assuming either Maryland or attached to just one tooth, especially if it is a small gap. Regarding how long the veneers last the average is 7-15 years with quite a large variation. How well the fit and how well you look after them are the most important factors, along with avoiding any trauma- sports injuries, grinding, opening packets etc with them.

Thanks for that. I hope its gonna be the lower end of the scale it was a baby premolar that never replaced. I better start saving.

Average price starting from €1k and also dependent on bridge design, type of material, gap to b filled etc
