Painting old roof slates

Just wondering if it's possible to somehow paint some old roof slates to match with new ones where a valley was taken down and repaired.
Since the repair job it looks a mess as the slates are now two different colours.
Both new and old are composite slates. The old type are made from asbestos fibre cement from the 1950's.

I'd love to strip the old discoloured ones off and replace them completely but budget doesn't permit.

Fleetwood do a roof tile paint but would mean painting the whole roof to get everything matching. Preparation is everything doing this job as you would have to power wash and remove all mould / fungus

OP its asbestos fibre, you shouldnt disturb it. Although the grey asbestos isnt that harmful compared to the pink or blue one.

IMO just leave it as it is. Eventually the colours will fade on the fresh tiles to match the existing one. Do you really want to be painting every few years?

Dragging up an old thread I know.

Op did you complete this work? As I am looking at the same situation.

I have the old asbestos slates that are discoloured to grey with lots of moss. The roof looks terrible and I'm getting the house painted so would do both together to keep it all looking right.

Got a quote to powerwash and then paint with fleetwood weather clad paint 2 or 3 coats depending on if the third is needed. The paint looks to cure like rubber so plenty of flex in it if needed.

    Any opinions welcome.
    Thanks
