looking for a walkaround lens as present for husbands birthday. he has a canon 7d, tokina 12-24mm and canon 70-300 usm lens, canon 50 mm 1.8 f lens. he has a tamron 28-75mm f2.8 bought from my brother about 5 years ago but starting to have problem with auto focus and have 3 spots of fungus inside so im not sure if it's still worth repairing it and where. i asked several shops and they have no idea who can repair it so i thought of getting him a new one.

i saw this on ebay seems to have a good review but would like to get your thoughts as i honestly dont know anything about camera lens and worried to spend this much and get the wrong one

does anyone ever bought from this seller before and is this a good walkaround lens? my budget is only arount €500-550. he takes landscape photography most of the time

is there any better lens that u can recommend that would be better than the tamron around my price range?

any inputs would be greatly appreciated

The 24-105 is a great all-rounder lens. L quality build. It would fit perfectly for what you're thinking about. That's a good price for it but I don't know anything about the seller.

:confused:I don't think there is an answer for your question, one lens would be great for one but completely useless for another depending on shooting style. Its a great lens but personally I wouldn't buy it but that's just me. If he likes to shoot landscapes the wide end of the lens is really cramped, so that's one thing to look at. For alternatives have a look at this page.

thanks for the link nerro. he does have a tokina wide angle lens and that what's he's using at the moment but i noticed that he uses the tamron 28-75 more when we're travelling and now he keeps on saying that he's missing that lens :) i think he really would like a walkaround lens where he doesn't need to keep on changing his lens.

i'll look on the link u gave me and see if there's anything better there within my budget
