For chrome.. Autosol works well, quick and easy, comes in a tube like toothpaste and if your chrome is very good a finishing rub with Silvo will leave a mirror shine. For interiors I just pick up whatever is on the go in Halfords or the local auto store , they all seem to work well..

If the chrome is perfect i'd just wash it in warm soapy water, rince with hot water...and clean with petrol...autosol/silvo is an abrasive cream..it will give a nice shine but i only use it on old dull chrome...

Do you mean splash some petrol on a cloth and just rub it into a shine?
Does Coke Cola do the same?

Only yesterday I bought a tub of this on eBay to spruce up my own leather.

I have autoglym leather cleaner to clean the seats before I try this stuff. But yeah, I'd imagine loads of products do pretty much the same thing.

Be sure and take some before and after pics!

If the chrome is pitted then no amount of coca cola & tinfoil, petrol, or autosol will work, pitting is pitting! DONT use any abrasives or wire wool etc unless youre gonna paint it black :P

My bumpers dont look too bad but theyre pitted, autosol will make em shiney and coke & tinfoil will remove light surface rust but it wont make pitting dissapear.

Wire wool actually works well, once you use good quality fine grade stuff (00 grade or softer, get Colron brand in DIY shop in section for prepping wood for painting) - it doesn't mark the surface.
It'll get rid of anything that's on the chrome, but won't cure anything thats in the chrome, like scratches, pitting or rust.

Tinfoil (a good size chunk) and WD 40 works wonders on chrome.

    Yes....

DO NOT USE FOIL ON NEW/GOOD CHROME...it will only clean up old pitted or light rust...

I'm assuming your chrome isnt new so you could use any of the methods/products above....
