    Hi all,

Just got a WiiU today. Quick question. How long do I have to charge the gamepad for first time? I have it charging now but there is no orange light on the LED to say it is charging. If I press the home button there is a solid red light however. Is it that the battery is empty at first and takes a while charging for the LED to shine orange? Sorry for what seems to be a simple answer but I fear that i may have a dud WiiU:eek::eek::eek:

I always get an orange charging led from 0 up to and including full

Is that AC plugged directly into the control pad? Remove the cradle from the equation!

tried both ways with no luck. still getting no light whatsoever. Starting to think its faulty. Will have to return it for a replacement tomorrow i'd say

Might be your charger is bad.
It should show an orange light while charging. Full red means it has no charge, or has under a third or so.

Yeah something was faulty anyway. Returned it to the shop where I purchased it yesterday morning and got a replacement! Happy Days!
