Any pics of it? I replaced the window switches in my VW passat cc. Didnt have to remove the door car, just the housing the holds the switches in the door card arm rest.

Looks like that plastic piece that surrounds it should pop out there might be a small catch under one side you need to push with a screw driver.

Get a flat (ideally plastic) pry tool, like a screw driver or something. Plastic pry tools will limit any damage to the plastics. Usually a clip at the front and back. Once out it'll reveal the connector block behind it.

Do yourself a favour and check the wiring between the door and the body before you go changing switches. its a common fault on audis of that era that the wiring chafes and begins to part at the door. the first symptom is trouble with the electric windows and mirrors when the outer wire shorts against the metal body.

oh it defo the driver side switch as the button sticks at times and sometimes won't allow the driver window up or down

so i got the new master switch and installed it myself,it required taking the whole panel off, four screws removed and popped off from clips, two wiring looms unclipped and old switch then removed took about half hour in total to do the whole job
