How to replace a missing iron

Hi All. Missing a golf club for some weeks now, don't think it is coming back!

It's a Titleist AP2 (2012) iron, Dynamic Gold S300 shaft. I only have the set a couple of years so keen to replace like with like, it's the first set of irons I have ever owned from new.

Anyone know where I might be able to pick up a single iron? I have found a site based in the USA but nothing in UK/Ireland. Even if I got the head, I could get the right grip/lie/loft/shaft etc.

I keep finding myself 125 metres from the flag, wouldn't you know

    Thanks,

    BM

I presume its a PW / 9 iron your after?

Pro Golf in Athlone have a few spare clubs in the shop and i was looking at an AP2 last time i was in there, think it may have been a 6 iron though.

I was looking for a single iron for months. You simply wont get it unless you get very lucky on adverts/done deal or pay over the odds from USA.

Try looking for head only from USEbay

    You could try foregolf?

Very much pot luck, only ever see the likes of 6 irons on their own as they are usually the demo club, phone around mate, Birr Golf Shop have a huge second hand selection (also they are opening a shop in Moate golf club this weekend)

Was thinking of trying the Titleist custom fitting centre at Carton House too.

    Yes, a 9 iron.

I could always try a different club, as long as I got the same shaft and ensured it was filling the gap loft/distance wise between the 8i & PW.

Such a shame to lose it, so bloody stupid. I'm almost tempted to go out and buy a 9 iron just so it turns up, the likelihood is that it is sitting in someone's bag and they have not yet handed it in...assuming I left it on my own home course.

What a co-incidence. I lost a Titleist AP1 8 iron last weekend and it doesn't look like its coming back either! Gut wrenching!!

There's a couple of ap2 9 irons on ebay USA but cost you about £65stg... inc del.

Thanks misterG, I have them added to my watchlist, they are all coming in about $120 including delivery, and all are in way worse shape than my poor missing iron!! I think I will just have to take the plunge!

    Hi,
Have you tried Titlest directly i'm guessing they have to replace individual irons all the time.

Thanks Mike. No, I haven't yet but going to ring the fitting centre in Carton to see.

I tried iron finder, they only have the 9 iron in the earlier edition, per that link

This happened me but I replaced it with a blade of the same make on the cheap. (Wilson though so easier and cheaper)

Don't really need the cavity on the 9 iron, you might get a Titlesist on Adverts. Are the AP's standard loft?

Yep there my brothers club. He has 5,6,8,9, pw from ap1 710 regular shafts. 4,7 irons shafts have been taken out but still have heads if anyone is interested. Guesstimate all clubs together are only worth 120.

Halpenny Golf Carrickmines have been brilliant. They contacted Titleist who said they will send the exact club to their store for me to pick up.

So my 8 iron debacle will be sorted next week I hope!

I thought someone on here was getting it for you?

How much is it from 1/2P golf?

So did I but there is silence. €109 including delivery. Might seem expensive but using it over a few years and the convenience it brings, I'll take it as a small price to pay for my original act of stupidity.

Is it the 2014 model they are supplying? Is that the one you lost? I am missing a 2012 model but am hearing that they will only be able to replace with a 2014. Which is fine, until I decide I love the 2014 model!!

It's the 2012 model, same model as what I lost. Perhaps contact Stephen there to see if Titleist have a 712 9 iron in stock too and they could stick it on the order as well.

Tell him you were talking to Gavin.
