ITV Regional News going HD with Sony

    Sony have announced a deal which will see ITV's remaining regional news divisions going HD with specialised HD cameras and field production equipment.

    They have invested in 190 Sony PMW 400 and PMW 200 cameras for their news divisions.

    The way it will work out in my view is that once the upgrading of all ITV HD regions finishes off sometime in the not too distant future. You would watch their news bulletins in HD once people have a HD satellite receiver in their possession.

    That sounds like a very welcome development to me.
