Is there a cheaper delivery option other than the €5 one (and €4.79 to ParcelMotel Newry making that pointless).

There used to be codes for half price delivery, don't know if they exist anymore.

Good thing is you can get as much stuff as you want and the delivery is still only that price.

Usually arrives to me by courier-DPD.

Can't go too wrong with a lot of the cheap shirts for work there, combat shorts, running shoes for under twenty quid etc.

What's the general opinion of SportsDirect? I'm looking at a particular tent they have at a very good clearance price and only £5 postage and I just wondered are they OK?

Nothing but good experiences with them. Quick reliable delivery.

Can't speak for the quality of the tent though.... which one is it?

Ordered a pair of runners off them a few months back, had a few questions before ordering and the customer support was quick to get back to me by email so between that and ordering I was happy enough with them.

They also seem to do regular sales so that's also nice to see.

I've only used them twice so far and both times they have been brilliant. the shipping is really quick and the second order was even delivered on a saturday. A SATURDAY!. They were also really good when i had a problem with the second order. One item arrived damaged and they just refunded the money a few days later. No quibbling, no "send the item back to us at your expense and we will see if you are telling the truth". Cant recommend them enough.

Their customer support is hit and miss - mostly miss.

There is a big sports direct thread in BA, check it out for discount codes too.

Regular user and only had one issue with a similar regatta jacket that was sorted quickly,

The only complain I've heard was a €2 pair of flip flops that apparently had to be fake because a shop here were selling the same ones for a lot more than €2 ,

Unfortunately, I cannot see this being up to usual REGATTA quality standards. Just too good to be true. Similar to the recent CAT jacket deals, I would suspect that they are seconds of some description. No way they could be, at less than a tenner.

Maybe it's so cheap cos of the colour. Wouldn't be my taste. But that is just me. When u switch to black colour the price goes up to 21 pounds.

Its probably the colour alrite. Regatta is fairly cheap anyway, Cummins sports in Cork constantly have the stuff on sale for €20 to €30 a jacket.

I second that. I would jump at the chance to buy the black jacket but that green is hideous...

I would say the colour too. I remember getting atrocious looking runners really cheap years ago, black adidas with 3 horrific neon orange stripes. Went home and cut the stripes off and had lovely black runners.

It's a Gelert double skinned pop-up 3 man tent - at £45 that's pretty good. It's probably a bit wide for me - it needs to fit on a day-sailer (boat) so I'll wait for the next sale at Halfords.

Thanks OP - my jacket arrived today - perfect even if its the green one. Kept those hailstones that we had in Diublin at 6:00 pm - at bay!

My jackets arrived yesterday, got the black one for myself and the green one for my BF. Thanks so much OP, I'm delighted with them. :)
