Hole in Slurry Tanker

I traded in a Star 1100 tank against a Hi Spec -1350 tank. I gave €1500 with my own tank. The Hi Spec tank has high tractor tyres, Chyrsler tyres I think. Anyway first day it was used the nuts loosened after the second load. They were squeezed but kept loosening. The guy came out and put on some kind of different washers. Second day out with it the tank began loosing suction. I discovered a hole in the belly of the tank which had been patched with fibreglass. I rang the guy. He offered to bring me a 1100 tank to use while he sourced a 1300 tank. A neighbour looked at the Hi Spec tank and thought it was only worth €2000. My old Star tank was sold to someone. I feel like asking for my old tank back and my €1500. Should I accept the 1100 tank and wait for the 1300 tank. Any advice is welcome. Thanks

I bought it on condition that it was sound and everything in order. I dealt with the guy before and found him ok to deal with. I' m not long farming, am not really experienced with machinery and took his word that the tank was fine.

that tank not fit for purpose. either he gets you a sound replacement or refunds you the value of your old tank plus the 1500.

I'd bring it back he would have known about the problem and he shouldn't have sold it to you. If he doesn't take it back and return yours I would make sure he fixes the tank you bought of him free of charge

if it has rusted through, then it is already beyond repair. it Will be gone too thin to weld on a patch properly, and just hole somewhere else. Really, get rid of it, take no excuses. Next thing, it Will suck itself in.

To be fair, the onus is more on the seller to ensure what he is honest and fortright with what he is selling. How do you tell if a tanker is rusted on the inside or not.
