Water Charges: ULF / HET toilet in Ireland?

    The average irish loo uses 6 litres of water per flush, x13 flushes per day for average household.

    According to the article below, a HET toilet can flush with less than 4 litres:

    78 vs 52 litres / day, or
    28K litres vs 19k litres / year.
    Substantial, considering our annual allowance following water charges is just 30k litres / year.

    Does anyone know if a high efficiency toilet is available in Ireland?

    yes they are

    2 x 2Litre empty Coca Cola bottles thrown into the toilet tank (the caps must be on to close the air in these). They will reduce your tank capacity by 4 litres, thus achieving HET toilet of 2 Litres capacity of water.

    makes sense?

    Hmmm, it needs to actually flush the captain's log, in Star Trek parlance. Have you put this to the test?
