    Hi there,

I lodged an Ulster Bank cheque into my current account today & the balance updated within a couple of hours.

I want to transfer this into my savings accout as soon as I can but I assume the cheque could not have cleared so quickly.

Can you advise when I should be able to transfer these funds?

    Thanks

    Hi Guess_Who,

    Many thanks for your post.

When you lodge a cheque, you will see the amount added to your balance however the cheque needs to clear before the funds are available.

A non-BOI domestic cheque takes five working days to clear.

    Thanks

    Billy

How long does a BOI cheque take to clear when lodged to a BOI acc?

Yuck.  I can't wait until cheques are a thing of the past.

    Thanks for the quick answer!
