    Hi All

I did a search to see if this topic featured recently both only topic I could find was from 4 years ago. So I have decided to open a new thread.

Looking for some rain gear that is reasonably priced. I don't want to spend no more than €100 on pants and jacket.

From looking on the net at halpenny the best I could do is €120 for nike gear. Other alternative is to try and buy the pants and jacket individually not convinced this is a better option either.

Due to my time scale (as always, last minute Ron) I can't buy online as most shops could take between 2-5days with delivery. So this means that I have to buy direct from a shop in Cork.

Any help, advice, tips etc on getting the right rain gear will be very much appreciated.

I got new mizuno gear at xmas, really good but above the price range you are looking for unfortunately. Had kartel which was rubbish. Galvin green was too expensive for my taste even though i play a lots... its just overpriced imo.i heard proquip was good but no idea of price sorry.

Try an outdoor shop. You will get cheap pullover trousers that will keep water out just as good. I have a pair of 20euro bottoms, can get them on over the shoes and off over my shoes too. Have never let any water in. But I would advise to invest in a good jacket.

    Thanks everyone.

I have just found callaway rain pants that I bought I say nearly 7 years ago so I hope they are fine. Will it be fine?

So it comes down to a rain jacket now. I see you can get a 1/4 zip or full zip what are peoples opinions?

+1 for the proquip. Have the proquip trousers (Not sure if its the aqualite or aquastorm but think the aqualite) and its a lovely pants. Not bulky and doesn't make that rustling noise a lot of the more plastic waterproof clothes make. I wear it as a normal golf pants. They are preffered supplier to 2014 Ryder Cup team so must be respectable.

You might be able to buy online in Ireland and have them before the weekend.

Size wise the XL would fit a 38 Jeans waist. Also the waist are elastocated.

Only slight downfall I noticed is they can slide slightly down (Some clothes have a slightly rubber Finish internal along the waist band for gripping but these don't).

Those Callaway pants will be fine.

Jacket always get the full zip as you are more likely to slip it on and off. I have had both zip types and the hassle of pulling 1/4 zip over your head (hats off, sunglasses off, cigarette out of mouth) was a pain.

Pity you have so little time as I would recommend boards or done deal for second hand Galvin Green on your budget.
