Has anyone that has gone on a J1 with USIT before know what sim card they give you? Just so I have an idea. I've been told not to use it and to get a T-Mobile sim over there.
It'd save me having to treck over to the USIT office to pick it up if it isn't worth it.
    Thanks

    It's a T-Mobile Sim as far as I know!

It is a T-Mobile sim! - I collected it yesterday...$50 per month is the cheapest plan you can get - that's unlimited calls and texts and 1gb of data...there is also an option of an add onto call and text Ireland for free and that is $15 extra a month!

Just FYI, tMobile will only give you Edge on an iPhone. You can't use their 3G system. AT&T is the best for iPhone.

If I'm on Metoer in Ireland, I'm assuming I'll have to get my phone unlocked to use it with the T-Mobile Sim. Would this be correct? Its a Galaxy S3.

Well 50 dollars a month is just awful haha.
I got my card there but i tried to activate it and it's looking for my phone number and that isnt on it. Should i wait to do it over in USA?

Probably won't activate here. US is totally different to Ireland in terms of activation. Because its so big, you get your sim card and then choose your number based on where you live i.e. 619 is San Diego etc.

Some phone companies also charge you to accept calls and receive texts. Its mental and completely different to the Irish system.

Whats the deal with paying? I'm getting texts from T-Mobile telling me I have a few days to pay or I'll be cut off. But my bill is only 33 dollars. Whats the story with the 50 dollars USIT were on about? I'm very confused. Am I missing something completely?
