    Hi all,

Just looking for your advice on getting a tax refund. Im not too sure what I am entitled to and how to go about claiming it back.

I have been unemployed for the last two weeks. Before that I was employed for 7 months. For two of those months I was emergency taxed but I received that back on one of my payslips. Before that I was emplyed for 4 months with the same emergency tax scenario as above.

I was also employed for 4 months in 2011 and have always lived in rented accomodation.

    Where do I start?

Contact the Revenue is the first place to start. You'll need to wait a few weeks to let your credits build up and then send in a P50 to claim tax back for this year, but they might be able to review the previous years for you if you give them a call.

You would also need to fill out a form for rent relief if you are renting since 2010
