    Hi
Going to be on the road a good bit in the coming weeks so in people's options which forecourt has the best coffee,or what coffee brand would be best to look out for and the ones to stay away from.
    Thanks.

I've found McDonalds coffee to be fairly drinkable, not sure if that qualifies.

If you can get your hands on McDonald's that would probably be the best but a very close second would be any garage with a spar will have Tim Hortons.

Not sure where you are on the road but garage coffee is not going to set the world on fire. Anyway here are places I use regularly. Coffee has been grand in them all as they are busy so machines / shops turning over regular business. I don't do the bg detour as just want to get off grab a coffee and back on the road as quickly as possible.

From Dublin to Galway N4 Services have Costa coffee shops inside, next handy stop is Kilmartins in athlone, Dublin side. Think its Bewleys.

Heading North, services at Lusk and Dundalk again Costa.

Heading to Limerick, exit 14 on M7, Texaco with Insomnia nothing close to limerick that I know.

Heading Cork again exit 14 on M7 and on the M8 at Cashel exit 8 there is a Topaz and McD's

Heading for Waterford there is nothing once you leave the N7, last handy stop is the Esso at Kill which now has a Costa Express machine but before that you have a Topaz and Applegreen. Never stop this early out as I like to clear Dublin and the Waterford option has nothing till you hit Waterford unless you take a major detour off motorway.

It might be worth noting that the Irish and European champion barista works at the Costa at Applegreen in Lusk, on the Dublin Belfast motorway.....

:pac: You do know that barista won best "costa" barista i.e you can only enter it if you work at a costa franchise.

In terms of forecourt coffee I think coffee they sell in Topaz is pretty decent. Had couple recently on a recommendation and I'd prefer it to likes of Insomnia & Costa. Agreed on McDonalds too.
