howdy all, just digging for info here, im going to cut my hair and shave my beard for a local kid who needs an operation.. but im stumped as to where i can fundraise online.. places like mycharity etc only let you raise funds for registered charities.. can anyone shed light or possibly help with links etc as to where i might be able to set something up so people can donate and its not bound by a specific target?

    thanks in advance :)

    I vote for facebook too.
It will be hard to get donations on a website as people will naturally think it's a scam (can't blame people too in this world) So you'd be best off using your social circle on Facebook to try and connect with more (eg, a friend of a friend might give money etc)

I say create a facebook fan page or something and try to be transparent about it. Put your face up and say "x y z for charity" (etc) and you will likely get more donations. Because if you just say you are going to do it, without putting a face to the action, i say most people wouldnt donate. Only those who personally know you.

Why not do it without cutting your hair and shaving? What's the point to that?

theres a beard competition at a certain tattoo convention, we are all entering it and then shaving for charity, but im adding my dreads :)
The kids parents have a page together and have now added me so i dont need to set anything up, just use their link, so thanks to all that offered help!

I wont post it here because it will probably go against some sort of advertising rule!
But if you want to know more or are interested in donating please pm me and ill send you the website with all the info :)

    Cheers again.
