Any other trinity students have any experience with living in gateway student village?.I Didnt get a place in halls or NCI and every other student residence in the city is incredibly expensive unless you're willing to share a bedroom which id rather avoid, but with gateway im worrried about the distance and whether there would be any other trinity students living there so if anyone who has lived there could tell me their opinion on it that'd be great, thanks.

You could also try house sharing, if money is an issue it would be much cheaper and there are plenty of Trinity students who would be looking to fill spare rooms after their house mates finish college/go on erasmus/move out. Just a thought!

Yea, I'd recommend sharing a house with people - Rathmines and Ranelagh are popular for students with decent rent. If you're bent on living in a student residence, have you tried CICE in Rathmines? It's open to Trinity students to apply (although I'd say you'd want to do so straight away) and it's cheaper than nearly anywhere else.

Dont forget with Gateway you will spend about €100 on a buses every month. Plus paying for taxis. If you are in the CC, you probably wont use any taxis. Surely you can find another person or two in your situation that will share an apartment in town

Maybe, but i did the house sharing thing this year and i feel like i missed out on something by not living in a student accommodation like most people do, also this year finding a house was such a hassle i just feel like living in a student residence would be the best for me.

Not too bad to live in really.

ballymun always was and still is a bit rough round the edges but it shouldnt be a big problem...there's a fair few busses to town from there too.

Gateway is too far out to be student accommodation for trinity in my opinion. Your best bet is a house share. To be honest, if you've finished JF, I wouldn't consider going for student accommodation.

the rules of it are ****. You can't do this you can't do that, you have to have people signed in before a certain time or you get a fine, there are fire drills at stupid O clock in the ****ing morning.
Its fine for first year, no one knows anyone and is a good way of making friends, but after that, I wouldn't bother.

Get a few people from your year together and go house hunting.
You can have much more craic, better freedom and not get ripped off by extortionate electricity (NCI's rate is something like 72c a unit).
