    Hi,
Was hoping some of you who are used to selling on ebay could give me some advice please?

I'm going to be putting some high-end couture stuff up on ebay soon.

Much of it is handbags, sunglasses, clothing from the likes of Gucci, Dior etc..basically all really good stuff but I can't really afford to keep it and need the money..

So I was wondering if I should be putting it up for a month on buy-it-now or risk starting it at a low price and going for auction.

I've good feedback as I've bought a lot on ebay previously and have sold a few small things over the last while..

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.thanks

if you are selling couture clothing you should employ an agent to sell for you. many b&m auction houses with deal with couture.

if you are selling rtw brand names then I'd sell by ebay auction, make sure you are aware of the costs involved.

research previous sold prices and the postage charged to see that was the way sellers made their sale achieve best price.

as a guide aim at achieving 35% of retail price you paid.

Thanks so much for the feedback!! I wouldn't even know where to go looking for an agent though. I will try the auctions. Thanks again :)

Ebay is riddled with fakes so people may doubt your auctions, even with lots of feedback.

You can check for completed auctions on ebay and see what similar things sold for. It can give you an idea of what to put in descriptions too.

Can you not set a reserve price. ? I think people tend to wait until the last moment to bid - I've had items jump by hundreds of pounds in the last minute. Also, time the auction to end on a weekend when most people are in shopping mood.
