Mazda 6 keyfob stopped working

    Hi Folks,

The key fobs to my Mazda 6 (2005)seem to have stopped working. The car seems to be completely immobilised - the engine doesn't make a sound when I try to start the car.

I was away with work for 2 weeks and the car wasn't driven in that time. Before I left the key fobs worked fine.

I replaced the battery in both key fobs, and tried to reprogram the keyfobs (following the instructions here), but without any success. The car is showing no signs of life at all which is very worrying (especially as it was serviced about 3 weeks ago).

Would greatly appreciate any help with this one

Sorry if this is too obvious but the car battery?
Even if the immobiliser isn't working the starting motor should still run and the engine will turn over but just won't start.

Yes sounds like you need a boost there.

No life left in the battery or not enough even if lights on dash.

Thanks Lads. After seeing your posts I took the battery out and got it tested, but apparently the battery is ok. I reseated it, and still no joy - there is absolutely no sign of any power available to the car - no response when I turn the ignition, no cabin lights, no anti theft lights etc. Any other suggestions as to what could be causing it?

Any lights coming on inside(interior) or dash lights.

    Could be a fuse.

No interior or dash lights. I didn't think to change the fuse - I'll give that a go ty

I would still try jump starting as battery may not have enough life left.
    Possible bad connection.
